April 4, 1940 – Sharon Sheeley, American songwriter was born Sharon Kathleen Sheeley. Hits include “Poor Little Fool” a US #1 for Ricky Nelson in 1958 (making her the youngest woman to write an American number one hit) and the 1959 hit for Eddie Cochran “Somethin’ Else” as well as hits for Glen Campbell and Brenda Lee. Sheeley became Cochran’s girlfriend and survived the car crash that killed Cochran in 1960.
